Quinta do Cardo is located near Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo’s village in the Beira Interior region. The vines, planted at an average altitude of 750 meters above sea level, are protected by the Marofa and Castelo Rodrigo mountains, and surrounded by the Douro, Côa and Agueda rivers.
The grape variety of this wine is also known as Aragonez in Alentejo and Tempranillo in Spain and represents 24.2% of the Portuguese wine-growing area. The wines produced are concentrated, very expressive aroma with notes of pine resin, rock rose, plum and menthol. The palate has great structure and concentration.
